Celebrated around the globe every March, Women’s History Month seeks to highlight the achievements of women, their contributions and their importance to the society in past and present.
The Ilia State University (ISU) School of Law, namely its Human Rights Programme, in partnership with Promoting the Rule of Law in Georgia (USAID/PROLoG) Activity implemented by the East-West Management Institute, joins the celebration through its online campaigns and other events dedicated to women at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.
Mona Lisa Smile: Film Screening and Remote Discussion
Mona Lisa tells the story of Katherine Ann Watson, who leaves California for Massachusetts to take a position teaching History of Art at Wellesley College. The film reflects the role of women in the American society of the 1950s.
The young woman instructor undertakes to help her students in making a choice between restrictive social norms and intellectual freedom.
