INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP "ARISTOTELIANISM IN WESTERN CHRISTIANITY"

On September 1-2 the Savle Tsereteli Institute of Philosophy will organize an international workshop “Aristotelianism in Western Christianity”. The event will take place at Ilia State University in room E235. The workshop is a part of the institute’s research project “Aristotelianism in Eastern and Western Christianity” that is a sub-grant of the University of Oxford project “New Horizons of Science and Religion in Central and Eastern Europe” and is financed by the John Templeton Foundation. A critical edition of Aristotle’s logical work’s “Peri hermeneias’” Georgian translation and commentaries from the 18th century has been prepared as part of the project, which undertakes a comparative study between Eastern and Western Christian Aristotelianism. The project leader is a Professor at Ilia State University and Director of the Savle Tsereteli Institute, Dr. Tamar Tsopurashvili.

The keynote speakers at the workshop will be Prof. Dr. Tiziana Suarez-Nani (University of Fribourg, Switzerland), Prof. Dr. Giga Zedania (Ilia State University) and Dr. Tamar Khubulava (University of Freiburg, Germany). The results of the current research will be presented by assistant researchers of the Savle Tsereteli Institute Ana Lomadze, Luka Kuchukhidze and Tornike Goginashvili.

The working language of an international workshop is English.
