Bio-Ethics Centre

The activities of the Bioethics Center - a research and teaching institution - include the integration of research and teaching components and interdisciplinary integration.

The world has been interested in one of the areas of applied ethics - bioethics and medical ethics - since the 80s of the XX century. The demand for bioethics as a new direction has led to the development of life sciences as well as technology, thus increasing its factor and importance in nature and human activity. There are special research centres on bioethics and medical ethics in the world's leading universities, whose activities are aimed at various types of research, as well as the detection and regulation of ethical issues in the activities of clinics.

The aim of the Bioethics Center is to provide interdisciplinary research and teaching at Ilia State University in the field of applied ethics, especially in one of its fields, bioethics, namely:

  • Creating relevant training courses within Ilia State University at different levels of teaching, translating materials for these lecture courses and creating textbooks;
