Research Centre "Mutual Understanding and Intercultural Dialogue Between Romance-Based Cultures"
It is well known that the process of globalization, the opening of borders and the facilitation of the mobility of different segments of the population have created a whole new linguistic context around the world. This situation has led to a new understanding by specialists in various fields, including linguistics, didactics, literature, and culture in general, on how to teach languages and cultures, and on the methodology of conducting scientific research.
Scientific research activities include contrast studies in the field of languages as well as in the field of culture and literature, mainly at the level of texts and discourses. The Center's work is directed by the research conducted by Romance professors, language teachers and doctoral students. Accordingly, the centre focuses on the novel field and includes both linguistic as well as socio-cultural and literary aspects of the research. This second goal of the Center brings together specialists in both university and novel philology across Georgia who research to identify the intertextual dialogue that exists between Romance languages, literature and cultures.
