International School for Caucasus Studies
Established in 2009 at the Ilia State University, the International School for Caucasus Studies (ISCS) is an interdisciplinary centre offering graduate and advanced research programmes.
The ISCS aims to advance the study of the Caucasus, spread knowledge about the region and connect students and scholars interested in this field. Its mission is defined by the increasing interest in the Caucasus and the understanding that bringing together academics, establishing quality academic programmes and supporting regional studies will create better opportunities for addressing the challenges facing the region.
Achieving academic excellence is the primary objective of the ISCS. It aspires to create a forum for professional cooperation and dialogue between scholars and young people in the region still afflicted by unresolved conflicts.
