The project aim is obtaining Georgia-related material kept in Iran’s archives and libraries (the National Archive and Library in Tehran, the archive of the ministry of foreign affairs of Iran, the archive of the Golestan palace museum, the libraries of the universities of Tehran, Ispahan and Gilan, Qom’s Ayatollah Marashi library, etc.). The project objectives include classification of obtained sources, cataloguing, translating into Georgian and English, elaboration and publishing. Carrying out such work – translating, elaboration and publishing of material entirely unknown to the academic community – will undoubtedly enhance our knowledge both about Georgia’s history and different aspects of Georgia-Iran relations
