
Europe at the periphery-LEAP
Since September 2019, Ilia State University got involved in a new project “Linking ‘Europe’ at the periphery (LEAP) within the framework of Erasmus + Jean Monnet Networks.
The project aims to explore academically how the EU is taught in these countries and to create a conducive environment to exchanging knowledge and experience on the EU methodological and theoretical challenges of studying ‘Europe’ at the periphery. Apart from these, the project targets to shed light on how the EU penetrates into the everyday lives of the people especially the young population and civil society activists. Besides, the project aims to assess the reasons for Euroscepticism in the ‘periphery’ and the reasons hampering European Integration.
Other project partners are Eskişehir Osmangazi University (Turkey), the University of Pristina “Hasan Pristina” (Republic of Kosovo), the National University of Ivan Franko in Lviv (Ukraine), National University of Political Science and Public Administration (Romania).
