Information Meetings with Faculty on Research Assessment Reform

2025-11-09

Within the framework of the CoARA Boost project " Linking the Individual and Collective Responsibility: Transforming the Research Planning and Evaluation Culture“, Ilia State University organised a series of information meetings with faculty members across different academic units.

The meetings aimed to introduce the project’s goals, explain the rationale behind research assessment reform, and outline planned activities and expected outcomes. Faculty members were invited to share their experiences, concerns, and expectations related to existing evaluation practices.

Moreover, the discussions addressed ongoing higher education reform in Georgia, situating CoARA-aligned practices as relevant and promising approaches for strengthening quality, transparency, and institutional coherence in research assessment.

These discussions contributed to raising awareness of CoARA principles, strengthening trust in the reform process, and fostering a shared understanding of the importance of participatory and qualitative approaches to research assessment.
