2024-11-07

The project titled "Individual and Collective Responsibility: Transforming the Research Planning and Evaluation Culture" received the highest rating in the CoARA Boost funding program. This institutional pilot project aims to implement a new participatory model and a cyclical evaluation process using a variety of flexible criteria.

The Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) is a group of organizations dedicated to developing improved methods and processes for research assessment. In 2024, Ilia State University joined the coalition and became a signatory to the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment. Over 700 research organizations, funders, professional societies, and associations are united by a common vision and guiding principles aimed at reforming the assessment of research, researchers, and research organizations.

Of the 63 projects evaluated in the first grant competition for the 2024 CoARA Boost initiative, 25 were successfully funded. These projects focus on promoting knowledge exchange, piloting new initiatives within institutions, and ensuring sustainable institutional change. Funding is provided through the EU's Horizon Europe research and innovation program.
