The purpose of the project is to prepare a parallel digital edition of the Gospel of Matthew of Giorgi Athonite’s recension reflecting the intermediate stage (the text of the lower layer of Iviron.Geo.62, the Alaverdi four Gospels and Ienashi four Gospels), final recension (the text of the upper layer of Iviron. Geo.62), the text of the Gospel preserved in John Chrysostom’s Commentary of the Gospel of Matthew translated by Euthymius the Athonite (Iviron. Geo.13, Iviron. Geo.4, Iviron. Geo.10), as well as according to the English and Greek (Byzantine
type) texts.
