
“Key challenges, best practices and directions for future career development (plan) for early-stage researchers”
A brokerage cross-disciplinary event will be organised in October 2018 in order to bring together interested partners around a threeday workshop at Ilia State University (Tbilisi, Georgia). The event, entitled “Key challenges, best practices and directions for future
career development (plan) for early-stage researchers”, will serve as a preparation for Marie Sklodowska - Curie Actions: MARIE
SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE INNOVATIVE TRAINING NETWORKS-H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019 within the framework of Horizon 2020
Work Programme 2018-2020.
The given brokerage event will unpack key challenges and emerging needs of early-stage researchers from diverse disciplines.
Participants (academics/researchers representing partner HEIs/research institutes and representatives of relevant non-academic sector)
will share their practical know-how and best practices of setting up and running tailor-made innovative training modules for doctoral
students and (early-stage) researchers.
The first day of the brokerage event will address the key challenges and changing trends that doctorates and early-stage researchers
face across EU along with emerging tendencies in regards to doctoral training and career development/progression in Academia. The
2nd day will be dedicated to discussions around the future steps to be taken for solving existing issues.
The last day of the event will be dedicated to generating/refining project ideas for MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE INNOVATIVE
TRAINING NETWORKS-H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019 and devising the action plan for proposal writing.
The event will be open to interested participants from all over the World: Universities, research institutions, private sector, public
sector. Representatives of the co-participant institutions will be asked to present a short paper(s) on above stated issues. A proceedings
of the event will be published on the brokerage event’s website. Other participants will also have the possibility to share their opinion
by written and/or oral form or take part in the round-table discussions.
