: Digital Epigraphy, Publishing Standard and Methodology
Digital Epigraphy is a rapidly expanding field of digital humanities that is taught at Ilia State University since 2016
as part of a master's degree program. "Digital Epigraphy, Publishing Standard and Methodology" is the result of the
experience gained during both the teaching and the ongoing research project (Georgian Epigraphic Corpus).
The introductory part of the book will present the way of the development of epigraphy as a historical field in
Georgia - the introductory section illustrates the arguments in favor of the standardized digital scientific publication
of the epigraphic data.
The main purpose of this work is to describe electronic tools and the international standard(s) underpinning digital
humanities research or publishing projects in the field of epigraphy; Methodological approaches of the exemplary
digital epigraphy projects will be discussed in a separate chapter of the book. An overview of the main issues of
digital publication of epigraphic material and ways of solving those issues should be of interest to any humanitarian
interested in the digital scientific publication
